ESCOLA TRANSMARICABOLLO (Transfaggot School)

The Transmaricabollo (Transfaggot) strand of the Escoles de context (Schools of context) aims to reflect on how LGTBIQ+ activism has been capitalised by liberal mercantilism in its enthusiasm to find new consumers, as well as how hegemonic educational spaces distance themselves from a social reality examined from ethnography and sociology. That is why the strand intends to be led by people who are not considered to be teachers or academics in order to create a shared, horizontal learning space through monthly sessions, challenging the synonym between right and need, the heterosexualisation of the collective for its legitimacy, and also the legislative and social criminalisation of dissident bodies and other non-normative realities.
