Gabriel Pericàs: presentation of the book 'The History of Lubrication'

JA Llibreria organises the presentation of the book The History of Lubrication, by Gabriel Pericàs, published by Printer Matter in 2023. The artist will do a reading-performance of the book with the collaboration of Simon Williams (Sunny Graves).

The History of Lubrication explores the functions and uses of human saliva, examining it from multiple perspectives, including its physical behavior, its political potential, and its affective dimension. Written as a transcript of an imaginary radio show, the project weaves together references from popular culture, art history, science, critical theory and film to examine our relationship with saliva.

Gabriel Pericàs is a Mallorcan artist and editor based in New York who, through sculpture, installation, performance and text, investigates the social life of forms, materials and substances. Since 2013, he runs Biel Books, a small-scale publishing house for artists' books.
