Bangkok, Bangkok
Kornkrit Jianpinidnan, a young photographer specializing in the fashion world, offers us a wide range of portraits of the younger generation of Bangkok in the moment of more privacy. The idea is to capture the point of transition between what is public and what is private, as determined by the same individual, which allows to underline a sense of alienation. For this reason, Kornkrit asked several young people - some born in Bangkok and others of foreign origin - who warned him when they felt that they were prepared. For its part, Prapon Kumjim and Thasnai Sethaseree will have the collaboration of the public of Barcelona to finish the projects that began in Bangkok. Prapon Kumjim is an artist who aspires to blur the line that separates the art of cinema from processes based on the direct or indirect use of a lens, in addition to resorting to his nomadic experience, highly influenced by media society . For his community photography project, Papron will ask several spectators from Barcelona, from three generations, to take photographs of their daily activities, to re-photograph them later and edit them in story board format. Thasnai, on the contrary, addresses the concept of community from various perspectives. Due to the fact that it is an artist who is actively involved in a social and anthropological research project, his work is related to cultural distortion and his idiosyncrasy, creating an interesting dialogue between different cities around the world and your perception of Thailand. Thus, in the installation titled Thailand is not my idea, it will include photographs taken by members of the Barcelona audience during their stay as tourists in that country. The play will be based on a living room and television set, where the audience will be interviewed in relation to their impressions about Thailand and the experiences that lived there.
The exhibition completes a series of cinematographic projections of local directors. Most of the films, which can be seen in exhibition spaces, are related to the urban and cultural aspects of Bangkok. Also, About Art Related Activities (AARA), an independent television broadcasting on the Internet, will present About TV, a Superchannel project created by Superflex, which offers information about the city and those activities that can be linked by the viewers of Barcelona with those of Bangkok....
