El mal alumne. Pedagogia crítica per a intel·ligències artificials
El mal alumne. Pedagogia crítica per a intel·ligències artificials studies the mechanisms of artificial sight and learning by means of neural nets. Nowadays, machines can see and learn, but what do ‘seeing and learning’ mean? Is it possible to formulate a critical pedagogy concerning their learning? How can we subvert the usual uses – commercial and monitoring – of these tools? Our research project aims to experiment in this field by using three basic strategies: producing alternative learning; evaluating the unexpected results produced by these tools (very often regarded as errors); and making these tools talk not about images but about themselves, revealing characteristics of their learning.
Estampa is a collective of directors, programmers and researchers who work in the realms of the experimental audio-visual and digital environments. Their practice is based on a critical and archaeological approach to audio-visual technologies, on the possibilities offered by interactive tools and on the resources of experimental animation. The projects they have carried out include Vomitorios (2018), Rotondes. Panorames i fases per a un espectador en moviment (2017), Rostro y código (2016), Speech Success (2015), Cartografia constant (2014), Atles visual dels centres de creació de Catalunya (2013), A la colònia penitenciària (2011) and La 72.024 mil·lèsima part d’un any (2007-2009). Their projects have been awarded grants by institutions in Spain and abroad, among them the National Film Board of Canada, Arte, CONCA, OSIC, Xarxaprod and Telenoika, and have been shown in art centres and cinemas such as the Anthology Film Archive, the Reina Sofía and Tate Modern. The members of Estampa are Roc Albalat, Pau Artigas, Marc Padró, Marcel Pié and Daniel Pitarch.
