Identities in Motion: Approaches to the (Re)Formulation of Memory between the Moroccan Community and the Rumanian Community (Ziduri de Trecere and the Al’Akhawat Collective).
Collaborative conversation and workshop with the artista Ana Cosac and the Al’Akhawat collective in which we will be addressing from an artistic perspective questions related to Moroccan and Rumanian migration, the feeling of belonging and memory, among others, reflected in the motivations that drive both the collective and the Ziduri de Trecere project.
Al’Akhawat emerged from the intersecting paths of six artists who are part of the Moroccan diaspora in Spain and who met repeatedly on art circuits and in resistance and activist forums.
Ana Maria Gabriela Cosac is an artist from Bucharest who lives in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real. Her projects are centred on memory, family albums, Rumanian migration and the territory and are based on the use of photographs, both those she takes herself and others gleaned from family archives.
