Són els microorganismes els que tindran l’última paraula. Activity 2: Aire lliure
Open air
Second session of the project Són els microorganismes els que tindran l’última paraula
Activity associated with the Air Pur installation at the Sâlmon< Festival (Mercat de les Flors)
Plaça Margarida Xirgu – 11 February from 12 midday to 5.00 pm
The aim of this event is to talk about the connection between parenting and ‘open’ air, taking as our starting point the Air Pur installation, presented at the Sâlmon< Festival 2018. To achieve our goal, we will be focusing on the new forms of organisation related to co-parenting in our city and the surrounding area, and we will be providing a space for people to share their tools, concerns and knowledge.
This event is also the second session of the project Són els microorganismes els que tindran l’última paraula (Micro-organisms will have the last word), which explores the concept of social fermentation, while thinking about parenting and transmission as a space for active and disruptive fermentation. Because as Aviv Kruglanski and Vahida Ramujkic say in the fanzine Microcultures, air is extremely important during fermentation and in social processes too. Space, time and open air, the pleasure of experimenting and playing are regarded as a luxury in our society; we believe that they are truly essential elements for creating ideas and resources that will help us to address the social challenges we face today.
We are holding this event in Plaça Margarida Xirgu in the Poble Sec neighbourhood in the context of Montjuïc park, one of the most important open-air spaces in our city, where an environmental play and co-parenting centre – an outdoor space open free of charge to children and their families – is being demanded as part of an amenities plan for the neighbourhood.
We will be opening the event at 12 midday on Sunday 11 February with an intergenerational workshop on fermentation. Immediately afterwards, we will cook a meal in situ and share it with everyone. After lunch, we will launch the conversation on the themes of the seminar in order to exchange experiences in different contexts and from diverse points of view. The seminar is being jointly organised with the co-parenting group La Tribu Sugurú and Jordi Mas.
The activity is open to everyone, free of charge, and is intergenerational. If you want to participate in the workshop and/or join us for lunch, send an email to i@nyamnyam.net so we have an idea about numbers and the amount of food required.
Són els microorganismes els que tindran l’última paraula is a proposal by the Associació Cultural Nyamnyam selected as an off-site project for Barcelona Producció 2017. The project is being supported by Kris de Decker (Low-tech Magazine), Adriana Parra, Aaron Vantsinjan, Aviv Kruglanski, Anna Coromina, Lara Garcia Diaz and Rubén Ramos Nogueira.
