What You Eat: Neighbourhood Food Emancipation Experiments
A community mediation proposal revolving around Gerard Ortín’s exhibition Agrilogistics in La Capella
A series of participatory actions facilitated by Cuchara that seeks to reflect the diversity of food practices in the Raval district in order to jointly outline the circuits followed by food items and understand some of the logics associated with the production, distribution and consumption of these.
Revolving around what you eat, our aim is to discover how relationships are formed with a multitude of implications that have to do with nutrition, care, culture, health or sustainability, among other key issues. With regard to all this, we suggest that participants try out practices that locate us as active agents in these processes revolving around food.
Dates of sessions:
· Thursday 1 July, 6 p.m.: Guided tour of Gerard Ortín’s Agrilogistics exhibition, open to the general public and with language mediation.
· Thursday 8 July, 6 p.m.: Edible map of the Raval: route through the establishments that provide food for the neighbourhood.
· Thursday 15 July, 6 p.m.: What you cook: cooking with leftovers session.
· Thursday 22 July, 6 p.m.: Festive closing session open to everyone.
