Nom és acció
Nom és acció (Name is Action), by Marc Larré, is one of the projects selected for a solo exhibition in the Sala Gran at La Capella within the framework of BCN Producció 2013.
Marc Larré (Barcelona, 1978) studied fine arts, film and video. His recent research around the phenomenon of photography explores the boundary between what is portrayed and the tangible qualities of what acts as its medium. In generating perceptive and material variants of certain images, he expands his semantic field towards the iconic, objectual and spatial, until they lie alongside the narrative, philosophical, ironic and metalinguistic.
Nom és acció uses the symbolic significance of La Capella as a place of worship and its original material, stone, to fully address the problem of photographic representation, which the author is researching.
Stones, photographs, postcards and printed images, which have been worked upon, comprise the bulk of the exhibition, which will also feature a number of videos and objects as well as documentary material. The intention is to apply a philosophy of the event to the physical body of photography, dissociating it from its mnemonic significance to achieve a performance-based aspect. Photography not as a container in which the forces of the outside world are etched onto a frame, but as an agent that actively shares the same forces by mutual influence.
